Tuesday Classes

Hi everyone
I don't usually post a photo of a project before a class but we still have some spaces left so I thought I would show you one of the projects that we are making tomorrow.  A twisted easel card with matching envelope.  Email me at amkshobbs@gmail.com to come along to make this project plus one more with a matching envelope
Cheers
Karen

At our class last Thursday we aimed to show everyone how you can use up your scraps and also that you don't need many supplies to make an effective looking card :)

Thanks to the mobile coffee lady we had that too.

Kids Classes

Last week I decided to run two kids classes in one week so that I could leave this week to spend time with my kids and do things just with them.  We have been to a movie, the museum, a show at the theatre tomorrow and then on Thursday Samantha and I are off to have our nails done.

These were the projects from the first class, they made a canvas, an album from one sheet of 12 x 12 DSP and an explosion box to put photos in at home.

Then at the next class .......

They made an album made from envelopes so that they could 'hide' things in the pockets and then they made a small gift box from the retired Scallop envelope die and four small gift cards to go in it.
Phew it was a busy week with the two kids class and a usual Thursday evening class so this week certainly feels much more relaxed :)

Negative Imagine Stamping

Well the Thursday night classes are going well with my fab upline Karen Lister (http://moggymarx.wordpress.com/) and our class last week was titled negative image stamping.
This card was a slightly different take on the negative image stamping as I used a piece of ripped scrap paper to make a mask for sponging.  I cased the idea from a swap that Karen L got at the Brisbane Stampin Up Convention and as soon as I stamped the colour I just knew it work for a masculine card which are always so hard to come up with.  I love the clockworks set.  In the school holidays I also ran two children's classes which went well, photos of those projects to come soon :-)
Karen and I are running a Cardmaking 101 class this Thursday as we discovered some of our lovely ladies that were coming along to our classes were perhaps feeling a bit out of their depth, if you would like to join us for this basics class on Thursday 25th July then drop me a line at amkshobbs@gmail.com.  We also run classes on Thursday evenings and are about to start classes on Tuesday mornings so if you would like to know more drop me a line :)
Happy crafting everyone.

Kid's Classes

Well last week during the school holidays I held a kid's class at home.  It was just a small group of girls and it was great, the girls made a Double Tri Fold Card, a bookmark with a punch art monkey on it and then a Mini Pull Out Album that I cased from a demo on Crafters Anoymous by the wonderful Dee Sturgeon http://deesdayze.blogspot.co.nz/.  I worked with the girls on making the basic album and then left them to decorate it themselves with a box of card and DSP and also lots of punches.  Below was my simple version but I can assure you the girls albums were covered from front to back in embellishments :-)

I am going to be running some craft classes during the term on Friday afternoon's so if you live in Dunedin (NZ) and have a child aged 8-12 who you think may be interested then drop me a line at amkshobbs@gmail.com

It's a rainy day!

Well the rain is falling for the first time in weeks here in Dunedin so I have taken the chance to make a sample for tomorrow nights class with Karen Lister http://moggymarx.wordpress.com/.  The lovely ladies that attend our classes have asked for a class on water-colouring.  To be honest water-colouring isn't something that I do much of so Karen Lister and I spend a quiet Saturday afternoon trying out some techniques and experimenting with papers.  We have to say that the best results came from using the Stampin' Up Water-Colour Paper.  Below is my attempt using blender pens and the new Secret Garden Bundle.
Happy crafting everyone :-)

Thursday Classes

Welcome back to me!!! It has taken awhile for life to get back to normal after surgery, Christmas and the school holidays.  Sadly crafting can sometimes be the first thing that takes a back seat.
Well last week and Karen Lister http://moggymarx.wordpress.com/ and I started back up our Thursday classes.  We hold these on the first and third Thursdays of the month in St Clair, Dunedin.  We have a lovely bucnh of ladies that come and join us.  If you want to know more then drop me a line at amkshobbs@gmail.com.  On Thursday 21st February we are holding a "Fancy Folds" class.
Please also drop me a line if you would like to receive my newsletter :-)
Even though I haven't been crafting much I have taken part in a couple of swaps over on Crafters Anonymous one of which was a vintage embellishment swap which was right out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed taking part and have received some fantastic embellishments.  Below is a photo of my swap which I kept quite simple but I am now really inspired to try some more vintage.
Happy Crafting
